OUR HISTORY
United Ways of Minnesota was created over 20 years ago to maximize the benefit of a statewide organization and collaboration for local United Ways. Our priorities include sharing and exchanging best practices, successes, resources and management. Our Statewide Association Board of Directors is comprised of one Executive Director and board members from member United Ways. Our board of directors meets quarterly year and maintains a committee structure that addresses executive and legislative affairs, training, planning and communications.

EQUITY STATEMENT FOR United Ways of Minnesota
UNITED WAYS™ EQUITY DEFINITION
Equity is the intentional inclusion of everyone in society. Equity is achieved when systemic, institutional, and historical barriers based on race, gender, sexual orientation, and other identities are dismantled and no longer predict socioeconomic, education, and health outcomes.
UNITED WAYS™ EQUITY VISION
The United Ways of Minnesota recognize structural racism and other forms of oppression have contributed to persistent disparities which our United Ways seeks to dismantle. Our United Way network strives to engage community members, especially those whose voices have traditionally been marginalized. Across the state we work with residents and public and private partners to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, support, opportunities, and networks they need to thrive. Achieving equity is at the core of who we are and what we do.
